Andrew Hannan

Head of Land and Property, Communities and Local Government

Andrew Hannan is Head of Land and Property at Communities and Local Government. As a chartered surveyor Andrew heads the Department's teams that provide internal valuation advice and engage with the property industry. He also leads on the cross-government programme ensuring that surplus public sector land is brought forward for housing development. Innovative programmes within Andrew's remit include the Carbon Challenge, which is fast tracking the creation of zero carbon communities at level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. His earlier career covered a wide range of surveying roles including portfolio management, agency and valuations. Latterly Andrew was a deputy director in the London region of the former Property Advisers to the Civil Estate (now OGC) where he was responsible for the Government's property strategy across London and the South East.
