“Campaigning for more homes and for better homes”

THE HOUSING FORUM TAKES THE INITIATIVE:

Housing in Britain now operates in a completely new context. For every penny spent on housing to count, the housing property sector needs a big voice. The Housing Forum believes that our strong public and private sector connections give us the voice of the industry. We have effectively brought all the housing property sectors together, by building on the success of the partnering and joint venture approaches – a central part of The Housing Forum’s offer. Now is the time for innovation, and for homes built to the highest standard and for improvement in the existing stock through asset management and maintenance. The Housing Forum works for real progress at a local level, while applying the best national and international practices.

THE HOUSING FORUM KNOWS THE HOUSING INDUSTRY:

The Housing Forum works nationally, locally, and across all the industry’s subsectors. Our members’ collective experience and pooled knowledge is formidable. As central Government plans to work direct with organisations and local bodies through decentralisation and localism, and reduce the size and scale of advisory bodies, The Housing Forum comes to the fore as a self organised and independent body committed to the entire housing supply chain. National government and local authorities seek the opinion and practical experiences of The Housing Forum around all the key issues of the day.

THE HOUSING FORUM’S ROLE IN THIS NEW AGE:

  • The Housing Forum is an industry-led network, adding practical value by bringing the best of all sectors involved in housing together.
  • The Housing Forum’s experienced voice and influence is a key benefit – giving whole organisations access to advanced solutions across all disciplines – a resource to tap into when business challenges require the latest thinking.
  • To share with its members industry-based solutions which are business critical to making the right choices in investment in housing property in times of economic restraint.

THE HOUSING FORUM REPRESENTS:

  • More than 100 housing organisations, that are involved in housing, from across the supply chain, both private and public sector, and employing a total of 250,000+ people.

THE HOUSING FORUM ACTIVELY SUPPORTS:

  • Building new homes, better homes, and upgrading the ones that already exist.
  • The case for building and maintaining the very best homes.
  • Housing construction as it has a positive impact on economic growth.

THE HOUSING FORUM PROMOTES AND ASSISTS:

  • Affordability – homes to meet the needs and financial capabilities of all households, both for rent or sale.
  • Sustainability – for both new and existing homes. The Housing Forum upholds the cost-effective use of new design and technology to achieve greater comfort, liveability through efficient use of material and natural resources.
  • Improved processes – in new build, repair, maintenance and manufacturing, The Housing Forum aims to strengthen business outcomes, raise housing quality and collects insights from right across the housing industry – and beyond it.
