Bromford Group
Landmark Point
Bromford is a leading provider of affordable homes and specialist supported housing services. We own 26,000 homes across central England and we have a strong reputation for delivering great services and great results.
We've been in housing for nearly 50 years and have doubled in size since 2003. By 2016, Bromford want to be one of the country's top three providers of high-quality affordable homes, supporting thriving communities.
To find out more about our plans for the future see our Strategic Plan 2010-2016 at www.bromfordgroup.co.uk. This includes the objective of adding up to 12,000 homes to our existing portfolio through merger. On top of that, we aim to build between 2,000 and 3,000 homes - hopefully more - over the next five years.
We are at the same time reinvesting surpluses and savings from a wide range of efficiencies in developing new services to meet the changing need of our customers. This includes a renewed emphasis in improving the work, education and training prospects for customers and other people living in Bromford neighbourhoods.
We have a really positive working culture that is emerging with a fresh energy and enthusiasm from the credit crunch. Our aim is to keep delivering exceptional customer service and this is creating new opportunities for talented people who want to work in teams that are trusted and empowered to get on with the job.
We are an award-winning top UK employer and the Bromford leadership academy – launched in 2006 – helps to develop all our leaders so that they become the very best in the industry.
We are also recognised nationally as exemplars in service excellence.
Bromford has continued to win awards across a wide range of our activities – from resident involvement and sustainability to construction excellence.
Recent wins include our flagship green scheme of affordable houses and flats at Cross Street South, Wolverhampton, being named project of decade by RegenWM and our Beacon Court partnership development with Beacon Centre for the Blind, Sedgley, clinching first place in the Meeting Needs of Vulnerable People category of the 2010 UK Housing Awards.
Bromford CEO Mick Kent has devoted his working life to service in the social housing world and is a tireless campaigner and lobbyist on behalf of the sector. He holds board positions with the National Housing Federation as well as the Housing Forum - serving as deputy chair - and Housemark (chair). Mick is a member of the influential Volume Developers’ Group of leading housing associations and in 2008 co-founded the M6 Chief Executives Group for the Midlands.
Why we joined the Housing Forum
To exchange knowledge, best practice and new ideas with a broader cross-section of leading organisations in the housing sector and to play an active role when it comes to influencing the strategic direction of the industry through policy debate and other forms of engagement.
